Warning - This project is currently in active development, so it may contain various bugs or errors. Please proceed with caution and use it at your own risk.

This project is designed to enable Magento to work with MeiliSearch instead of ElasticSearch/OpenSearch. It utilizes code similar to Algolia, as it is a modified version of Algolia tailored to function with MeiliSearch.

Currently, there are a few more features that need to be fixed/added, such as popular queries in search and recommended products, track product changes (inventory changes), etc.

I'll be continuously updating this README to provide more detailed information as the project progresses.

Requirements

• PHP 8.0 or above
• Magento 2.4.6 (I've used 2.4.6 to develop, not sure if it might be compatible with lower versions.)
• MeiliSearch (1.3 or greater)

Installation

Download the files, create new folder under app/code/MelTheDev/MeiliSearch

bin/magento module:enable MelTheDev_MeiliSearch
bin/magento setup:upgrade && bin/magento setup:di:compile
bin/magento index:reindex

Once done, you should be able to configure the changes in the admin stores configuration, where you will find a new section called "MelTheDev MeiliSearch."
